I am concerned that my PC may have picked up a worm (or other unknown issue) from someone else's infected machine I am working on.
Not sure if the .jpg header corruption is caused by virus or malfunctioning hardware.
Perhaps this is a piece of cryptographic malware?
If your .jpg file headers (and ONLY .jpg) randomly keep getting corrupted resulting in the message "Can't read file header! unknown file format, empty file or file not found", your computer might have been infected by malware (virus or worm). This malware usually sneaks into your computer via other software bundles, share files, spam emails, IM attachments, or corrupt websites. Once insides, it will block you from accessing your clients images. It is a great loss if all your .jpg files are totally missing.
Besides, you can also learn what other malware may bring to user’s computer. And then you can guess how dangerous this .jpg Header Corruption problem can be.
